It's sketch challenge time again & another outing for the classic "Peaceful Christmas" which I used for "Trio of Christmas Tags" a few weeks ago but used in it's entirety this time. I've kept it very simple & I hope elegant this time using simply white & gold. I've embossed the image & sentiment with gold powder & given it some shade & colour with Brilliance used to water colour. The holly panel was made with the mask & Brilliance & all layered onto the gold card. To finish I added some gold Liquid Pearls to the holly berries & a little touch of Stickles for sparkle.

I do like paper piecing there's something very satisfying about it. This design from Francoise Read lends itself to the technique very well. Now the eagle eyed among you will remember that this was my workshop project for August & I felt I just wanted to share it again. Simply stamp the main image onto the card blank & onto the 2 shades of paper & cut these out. Now "piece" them onto the card blank. Simples! I have created a border with the paper & by applying some Stix2 transfer foils on top of this with Ultra sticky DS tape. To finish add the sentiment, some faux stitching & highlight parts of the image with the silver pen.

Halloween with Stix2

For my Halloween design I've used Woodware's  FRS310 "Tall House" but given it a very different look to the pretty town house of the "Welcome to Your New Home"  theme of the set. Stamped onto "Tinted Tangerine" card with Brilliance Black I've cut out the windows & replaced them with Stardust Charcoal card. The bats & spiders peel offs come from Stampendous & I've mounted a bat onto a piece of acetate which I've folded into a springy concertina to make him wobble. The trees have been covered with Stix2 hot glue & covered with micro beads from the red & orange Seed Bee'd & Fine Glitter set. The grey layer has been mounted onto Stardust Orange card & the A5 card blank is Pearl Coal Mine card. The little besom I've made with some twigs from my garden all held in place with hot glue. Happy Halloween!!

I've gone mad with the punches this week & created a little garden on a card. We were asked to choose one colour palette this week so I've chosen shades of orange which seems appropriate with autumn approaching.  I shaded with chalk inkpads & given the flowers shape with a Character shaper & a DEET. The little heart shapes & the brown "leaves" have been created by snipping parts from the yellow "sunflower" punch. I've stamped the greeting from "Garden Greetings" & added some Nailheads & faux stitching to finish.

Working with Brushos

I've had an addiction to working with Brusho powder paints just lately. Combined with Woodware & Stampendous stamps, just embossed onto water colour paper, add the Brusho colours & spritz with water. Add some shading with Spectrum aqua pens, the results are very dramatic!

Stix2 Die Cut Flowers

Stix2 products used:-

Copper Pearl card Stencil sheet
Tinted Billiard Green card
DS adhesive sheet
Die Cut Stencil sheet
Crystal glitter
White die cut flowers
White die cut scalloped & plain ovals
Green Seed, Bee'd & Ultra fine Glitter set
Polyester Ultra Sticky tape
Hot Glue gun
Layer Perfect (Imperial)

I've been having fun with all the great Stix2 products again. I just loved the Die Cut Stencil sheet which gives the curly background (a Stizzix die).Just choose the die &die cut the sheet. Lay onto a piece of adhesive sheet (which has been attached to some white card) & cover with crystal glitter. Peel off the stencil & store away safely for next time & then cover the remaining exposed sticky surface with green glitter. The die cut flowers have been sculpted with a ball tool & shaded with a chalk inkpad. The centre cup shape has been made by  gluing the petals behind each other & then snipping with scissors to fringe them. The flowers have been assembled with the hot glue gun & then the centre filled with hot glue before covering with the seed beads from the set. The borders are made with the tapes in 2 widths & then covered with the seed beads, micro beads & glitter from the set.

Continuing our Christmas foray into the new season's Christmas stamps from Woodware we have a "Trio of Christmas Tags" featuring "Peaceful Christmas" by Francoise Read. I've die cut 3 tags & used different areas of the same stamp on each with one of the sentiments which come with the set. I have embossed with the lovely new Rose Gold embossing powder from Stampendous & then coloured with the water colour pencils. The borders on the card blank have been made with the new border punch from Woodware & dark red lightweight card. Now just add the ribbon & a few dots of the Liquid Pearls.

Here's how the stamp looks.

Sparkly 3D Christmas

I've been at it again with the die cuts! Was just going off to sleep the other night when I had a eureka moment! (Sad person!) I'm guessing my fellow demonstrators on the Stix2 design team may have done this long since but I found these little snowflake & Christmas tree die cuts were just begging to be folded in half & layered up to make cute little tree decorations. Don't forget to add the cord to the sandwich if you're going to have a go but the trees will stand on their own if you take care to get all the layers flat as you're doing your gluing together. I've added some ultra fine glitter from the Seed, Bee'd & Glitter packs to the red one & the micro beads to the green one.

Sparkling Winter Flowers

Now as a relatively newbie Stix2 demonstrator I confess I hadn't yet got to doing any die cutting with the DS adhesive foam sheets. How impressed was I?!! Like a knife through butter! The flowers you see here behind the snowflakes were die cut from the foam, glittered & attached to the card. The larger snowflakes are Stix2 die cuts & the smaller ones were Woodware punches. I attached them to the flowers with the Stix2 hot melt glue gun. The centres of the flowers were drops of the hot glue on to a hot sheet & then when cool enough given the transfer foil & Dreamweaver Mica powder treatment . Mounted onto a 8 x 8 card & finished off with some lilac satin ribbon & Dreamweaver embellishment pins.

Sparkly Christmas Designs

A few more designs using Stix2 die cuts. Here we have one of their fab snowflake die cuts. You can probably tell that I've given it a 3D look by layering a folded snowflake on top of another. The glitzy dots come from my trusty hot glue gun with ultra fine glitter from the Seed, Bee'd & Glitter packs. The sparkly background has been made by attaching a piece of DS adhesive sheet & when everything has been put in place cover the exposed sticky surface with crystal glitter. The ovals sporting the sentiment are also die cuts which go together perfectly & I've just sponged the scalloped one with ink to match the design. The border come from the new Woodware dual border punch.

Here I've made a fun shaker card with a snowman die cut. I've rearranged his hat at a jaunty angle & added some branches for his arms which I've cut from card. Fro the shaker aperture I've die cut an oval & used Stix2 Project Acetate for the window. The shaky bits are Stix2 clear plastic beads & I've nibbled around the edges of the blue layer with a snowflake punch.

Shabby Chic Weddings

The "shabby chic"  look is very popular as a wedding theme at the moment. Stix2 have some great  die cuts which will make the job of making wedding invitations a doddle.

Here I've used some butterfly die cuts & the 2 oval die cuts fit together perfectly. I've stamped the butterflies & the edges of the 6 x 6 card blank with Woodware's ADS515 ripped Lace with Versafine Vintage Sepia. the words come from a woodware peel off & to finish off the design I've added some Mark Richards gold Metals.

Here I've used some dove die cuts & the square scalloped edge square is one too. I've layered one dove on top of another & just fixed the bodies together using clear foam pads so that the wings could be parted to give a more 3D effect.

It's sketch challenge time again & a chance to use one of the great new Christmas designs from ADS "Cedar Script". I've embossed the main image with gold powder onto green card. The background to the card blank has been randomly stamped with one of the lovely images from "Deck the Halls" with green ink & embossed with gold powder on the left hand layer. The smaller layer comes from the paper pad layered onto gold card. To finish just add the Candis.

Today at Liberty Craft- Christmas Make & Take

We've been doing something different for my usual Thursday morning demo today at Liberty Craft with a Christmas Make & Take. Here's the design which my crafty ladies had a crack at & great results were achieved by all. Here's what we did & the stamp set used today was JGS417 Trio of Trees from Woodware.

Firstly we made a background by scribbling a little ink onto some acetate (Stix2 Project acetate)  from some water based pens (Sakura Koi water pens). Spritz the acetate with water with a little Dreamweaver Metallic FX powder (Moonstone) mixed in for a pearly look. Place another piece of acetate over the top & move the ink around. Print onto a piece of plain white card. Dry the card & stamp the image over the background, colour with the pens. Mount onto the card blank, this comprises of a 2" strip of card cut from an A4 piece & folded in half. To finish either add some Stickles to the baubles on the tree or use a Sakura clear Glaze pen & add crystal glitter while still wet.

A good time was had by all & I shall be planning more Take & Make Thursdays over the coming months so watch this space!

Don't forget to join me next week when I shall be back in my usual demo mode at Liberty Craft  & making Candi flowers to adorn your Christmas designs.
