This week we're exploring "Tone on Tone" or using different tones of one colour. I've chosen "Butterfly Botanical" by AD designs & I have embossed the image using Aged Marine. I then did a water colour wash over the entire piece with 3 shades from  pigment ink pads. When it was dry I over stamped with the Netting Background using Versafine. The background on the card blank comes from the pretty papers from the Perfect Prints set which has been layered onto navy card. I have cut away a 2" piece from the right hand side of the card blank & added a panel also stamped with Netting background.  The sentiment comes from Everyday Verses which I have stamped onto a spare piece of the colour wash background. To finish I've added some tiny dots of Stickles & the Candi Bonbons.

This week we join the ladies from The Mirror Crack'd who have set us the quest to make a "Masterboard" & make something none card related with it. I love to make a Masterboard as you can really go to town with it whether you use embossing & direct to paper technique or some thing like the Stampendous Creative Palette. Basically you're just creating a whole sheet of background.
I started by randomly embossing all over with the Petals & Dots set & yellow & green papers. Next apply DTP technique using pink, lime green & sage green chalk inkpads. Lastly over stamp with a small stamp & a darker purple inkpad- et voila! You have your Masterboard!
I have made a gift bag & I cheated as I have an MDF shape to wrap the card around to form the bag shape & creases. I have used a mixture of the organza ribbons to make the handles of the bag .The sentiment is from Birthday Textbox & I have punched a label & attached it to the ribbon to finish.

Here's the bag

Why not pop  over to the The Mirror Crack'd to see what the ladies have been doing.

This week we have another project chosen by one of the Woodware blog design theme. Siobhan has asked us to create a set of 3 coordinating bookmarks suitable for a gift for a friend. I have used two sets of stamps from Francoise Read which come as one stamp but are ideal for cutting into sections. I have coloured with Tombow pens & mounted onto 3 craft card bookmarks. I've stencilled some polka dots onto the bookmarks using some chalk inks & a spotty mask. To finish add the ribbon & the Nailheads.
I've created a DL card blank & covered the front with the Perfect Prints papers. I have attached a bar of card across the front using the ribbon flower brads to tuck the bookmarks behind to present as the gift.

Black, silver & elegant this week. I decided to dust off my stencils & use this lovely Heron stencil which has that oriental look to it. Simply pasted onto black card with silver paste & cover immediately with crystal glitter. The sentiment came from the Birthday Words stencil which I have given the same treatment. Simply layered onto silver pearl card & then onto mirror card before attaching to the card blank. As you will see I have used a corner punch to add some notches to the corners of the image & to finish I've added the Metals.
