We're using Artemio templates this week which are perfect for creating your own mini memory albums and a whole range of other uses as you will have seen from the great ideas created by the other designers on the Woodware blog this week. I have chosen to use the heart template and I have used just part of it and created this fun greetings folder inside of which you could slip a little gift, message or keepsake. You will see from the photo below how the complete template would look if you wanted to use it whole for a mini album and you will see the section that I have used. I have stamped with Francoise Read's Birdsong set of Clear Magic stamps to create my own little scene. This set has some really lovely individual stamps and messages so that you can make up a unique design. I have stamped directly onto the Magenta scrapbook paper and used Tombow pens to colour. Stamp a sentiment onto a punched heart and add the ribbon before attaching it to the front of the folder and closing with a pretty bow.

We've had such a mild winter down here in the south that a scene like this (that we were enjoying last year this time) seems hard to imagine. This week we are enjoying the theme Winter Wonderland of Cool Colours. I have used this beautiful stamp from Magenta which could with a little imagination be used for spring, summer & autumn  too. On this occasion I have stamped onto pale blue card (a tip from my good friend Jan Caudrelier!) as this sets the frosty look straight away. Just add a few subtle highlights with coloured pencils, some heavier accenting with white pencil & some frosting using the glue pen & crystal glitter. I have used a DS white card blank with a strip of DSA sheet across the centre & coated with glitter. You may have noticed that I have cut a strip from the right hand edge of the card & replaced it with acetate. I have placed a piece of the pretty Magenta scrapbook paper Victorian Beauty on the inside of the card to show through the acetate section. On the acetate I have added the sentiment from Christmas Words & a few s/a diamantes to accent the paper's design. Now just add the peel off border & a piece of white polka dot ribbon to finish the card.

With all the bargains to be had at the January sales let's hope that it doesn't come to handbags at dawn! To start a New year's crafting I've created this fun girlie card using Woodware's versatile Chippies die cut shapes. I've coloured the bags & embellishments (which are included on the sheet with the handbags so great value for your money) with Rocket Red & Graphite Black Brilliance inkpads & then embossed with clear powder which gives you a lovely glossy texture. I have sponged the edges of the card blank with rocket Red & added some Faux stitching. The background words come from Jane Gill's clear magic set "Girl Stuff" which has some sentiments & girlie stamps.I've used a selection of red & clear elements & large pearls to add some bling to the card & to enhance the Chippies. After all, a girl can never have too many handbags!!

Silver Encore inkpad
Stars Sparkler peel off
Peel off M.C & H.N.Y in black

Happy New Year to everyone & we start a new year's crafting with our Sketch Challenge of the month. I've used some of the great icons & words from the Stampendous set of clear stamps, Twenty Something. I've randomly stamped the bright pink card blank with the word "celebrating" using black Versafine & the catherine wheel in silver. Sponge the numbers using the Encore inkpad & set aside to dry for a while. I have punched the balloons from pearl pink paper & given them some shape using a Character Shaper & sillicone glue. Just adding a little accent with the Sakura pen gives them "life". The peel off message is added to an oval from the Ellipse punch sponged around the edge with the silver inkpad again. I've added the right hand strip from white pearl card & a generous sprinkling of stars just finishes it off. Mount the Chippies letters to the pink area of card & cover the "twos" with a generous helping of silver Stickles. Let's hope we'll all have a sparkling 2012!!

Here is this month's sketch for you to try so why not play along.
