It's nearly that time of year again & I know many of you have been doing Christmas crafting for a while now. There are some gorgeous new Christmas stamps from Woodware this year & I've chosen this one from Jane Gill "Poinsettia Corner" to kick off the season. I've firstly embossed the flower corner & the sentiment onto cream card using gold powder & coloured the leaves with Sakura pencils. I then embossed just the flower again onto cream vellum & cut out just the poinsettia flower. Before attaching to the main image I gave the flower some shape by sculpting on the back with a ball tool. Attach with a 1mm foam pad at the centre of the flower. I have edged the image & the card blank with gold powder. Now layer the image onto dark green card before attaching to the card blank. To finish add the green Card Candi & Liquid Pearls to the berries & centre of the poinsettia .

We're rising to the challenge from the ladies at crafty cardmakers  this week & their theme is Ribbons, Lace & Pearls.
I've chosen a Dreamweaver stencil & the lovely "Large Orchid" which I have pasted with Pearlescent embossing paste for a beautiful pearly look. When the paste was dry I replaced the stencil & added some colour & some more shimmer with Brilliance pearlescent inkpads.
I've used a Hairy Manilla (that name always makes me smile, I always want to say hairy gorilla!)
card blank which gives an aged look. Now you can go mad with the pearls, doilies & lace. The sentiment came from Francoise Read's Curly Butterfly & was stamped onto a label  punched with the new Ornate Bracket 2" punch. Why not pop over to crafty cardmakers & join in the challenge you could win some Woodware goodies.

OK it's official I'm addicted to flowers! I've done it again but just couldn't help myself! Our mission this week is to make good use of these lovely dress punches from Woodware & the frilly skirt of the dress just begged to be a frilly petal!! I began by punching a 2" circle from card to use as the base & to work onto. Then punch 8 pieces from blue paper using the largest punch (3"). Cut away the top of the bodice from each dress & score from the "waist" to the hem to make the dress frill. Edge with a blue inkpad & attach to the circle of card as shown in the photo below. Place the  remaining 4 pieces between the first 4. Now repeat the process using the 2" punch placing the petals in the centre of the first layer. Punch a 1" circle from caramel card & sculpt to give it a domed effect.add some dots of Liquid Pearls
The card blank is a piece of A4 cut in half (portrait) & then I scored about 2" to wrap at the back to re assemble the card.  The background was made from the Perfect Prints pad stamped with a sentiment from Little Messages & add a bow of white organza ribbon.
As you'll notice I have used the 1" dress punch to make a frilly border along the right edge of the card blank using the same method as for the flowers. To finish I cut some strips of blue paper with the pinking blade of the Fingerguard trimmer & added some blue Elements. Voila-one frilly flower!!

This week we're exploring a new product from Woodware the very versatile Craft Canvas. You can ink it, stamp on it, die cut it, sew it,stencil it, heat emboss it, Frantage it & use some embossing folders with it too- the list is endless. It's easy to cut with scissors or even a trimmer.
I have made a pouch which I intend to house my Kindle when it goes on it's hols but you could use it for your jewels, pencils, bits of ribbon etc. etc. I cut a piece to size & then inked all over with Sky & Jade inks. The recommended ink to use is Crafters by Colorbox but any pigment ink works well (dye inks tend to bleed). When the ink was dry I over stamped using Thyme & one of the new Stampendous stamps "PenPattern Light" which is a gorgeous Zentangle design & I've a feeling will be making many more outings on this blog!  I also prepared another piece of canvas which I used to die cut the flowers. To this piece I added some embellishment  to the pattern with the Stardust pen. After dusting off my sewing machine & stitching the pouch I added some gingham ribbon to the edges (dodgy stitching- I'm not the best at that kind of thing!!) & a button & loop to fasten. Finally I attached the flowers with some PVA glue & some little bows. The canvas won't be sculpted as you would paper flowers so to give them a little character I gave  them a goods scrunching up in my hand. Do check out  this great new product!!
