We join the crafty ladies at  Crafty Cardmakers this week & they said "Distress It!" so I have! I've used Patch Robin for my main image & I've done some paper piecing with a mixture of scrapbook papers & an embossed print from PenPattern Light which gives the robin a Zentangled look. The 2 panels which act as the background are also from PenPattern, one embossed with silver & one with black. I've taken the blades of my scissors to all the edges except the main image & I've also inked the edges of the background panels. The top right hand corner has been rolled down & secured with an embellishment pin which I've turned black with a permanent pen. The hessian ribbon has been sponged with Brilliance Starlite Silver & some crumpled holly leaves added. If you look closely you'll see that I have stamped the word "Robin" from the stamp set on the corner of the silver insert. To finish add  a label stamped with the sentiment, some pearls for the holly berries & some crumpled black Candis.

Why not pop over to Crafty Cardmakers & join in their challenge.

The weeks are simply flying past now, soon be time to put the sprouts on!! Have you done your cards yet? Still a few more to do? Here's some ideas for some quick & easy last minute cards. I always find that sticking to one or two stamps & giving them a few different looks depending on who they're intended for is the way to go. Below are the individual cards I've designed for this theme & I'll talk you through each one & what I've used as we go.

Firstly we have a "chalkboard" effect card using "Every Good Wish" for the main image & "Many Christmases" as the background on the card blank. I've stamped with Brilliance Moonlight White & Graphite Black & then added some touches of silver Stickles & a knot of polka dot ribbon. This would be great for a teacher card!

Next we have a more masculine look or maybe for a gardener. Stamped with Versafine Olympia Green & Vintage Sepia with a knot of hessian ribbon & a button to finish. The card blank is "Hairy Manilla"

Time for some elegance next with the background stamped with Snowflake Trio & Versafine Smoky Grey & the main image embossed with detail silver powder. Mount onto silver mirror card & add some Glitterdomes for added sparkle.

Last but not least I've stamped onto a piece from the Perfect Prints pad using Versafine Onyx Black, mounted onto burgundy card & added some "Metals" in gold. I've also notched the corners of the stamped piece with a corner punch.

Hope these have given you some inspiration for some quick & easy cards.

I've been saving this cute new stamp from Stampendous for the theme this week & aren't they fun? I've chosen to make a rocker card but with added wiggle as the snowmen are mounted onto a "Wobbler" so plenty of movement going on here which is the sort of things kids love- Mr Frosty did too!
I've printed with Versafine & coloured with pencils. The mechanics of the card are quite easy just die cut a 7" circle of white card & fold in half. Cut a 5" circle of silver mirror card plus one in acetate too.Cut the mirror card circle in half & pass through a snowflake embossing folder. Cut the acetate circle in a little over half & attach to the back of  mirror section to form a whole circle again. Attach to the folded white circle with the acetate standing up. Cut out the snowmen & mount onto the "Wobbler" to attach to the front of the card. Stamp "Noel" from "Christmas Greetings" onto a punched circle & mount onto a die cut snowflake & attach with 3D foam pads to the acetate. Add the Sparkler snowflake peel off to edges of the circles, some single snowflakes to the acetate & plenty of Stickles to the Snowmen's hats & buttons.

We have a Christmas Collage this week using a combination of stamps & embellishments & just the kind of thing I love. I started with the card blank & brayered it all over using a green ink. Next I stenciled the holly leaves using the mask & then overprinted with "Many Christmases" & Vintage Sepia. The 2 stamped images were embossed with Detail Copper & Christmas Cottage was then just given some highlighting & shading with Tombow pens. I then rounded all corners before layering onto the copper pearl card & attaching to the card blank. Now punch some holly leaves from the pearl card & give them some vein character using  a DEET (double ended etching tool). Thread some twine through the button holes before arranging with the leaves at the bottom left hand corner. The brads come from last years set " Christmas Trees & Snowflakes" Glitter brads & I have darkened the gold snowflakes with a permanent marker to be more in keeping with my colours. The gems come from one of the  Mark Richards "Cluster" sets to finish off the collage.
