Today at Liberty Craft - Funky Shaped Designs

Today at Liberty Craft I was looking at  different shaped cards for a change. The stamp used here was Meadow Flowers by Jane Gill from Woodware & coloured with Sakura Koi water brush pens.  The background of each card was created with  Distress inks & stamping was done with Versafine.

All products are available from Liberty Craft.
Don't forget there is no demo next week so I'll see you in a fortnight!

I've chosen a "Happy Hopper" for my first design which is one of my favourites especially for a "Welcome Baby" card. For the background I've used the "double glitter" technique. Give the back of your stencil a light rub with some natural soap before laying onto a piece of DS adhesive sheet (the other side of which has been attached to some white card). I've applied the crystal glitter first as I wanted to create the illusion of clouds. Carefully remove the stencil & apply the second colour glitter- in my case sky blue. Now you have a lovely sparkly background.
Bunny Luv has been printed with Versafine Onyx Black & coloured with pencils. I've layered both the image & background onto pale blue & craft card & the sentiment comes from "Everyday Verse".To finish I've coloured the white organza ribbon with blue ink to match my design,  added some gingham Card Candi & a touch of Stickles to the bunny hearts.

THEME:
We’re celebrating stencils, and using them with our House-Mouse Designs® images. We’re going to bring you tons of inspiration over the next two weeks, and we can’t wait to see what you enter into the challenge! You may use ANY House-Mouse Designs® images or characters on your project, and any stencils and stenciling techniques that you like. There is never any purchase necessary to enter. And, of course, as always on the HMFMCB, “anything goes” is always an entry option.  Link your entry to the linky tool by the end of Friday, April 8, 2016.

There are prizes!! Three entries, chosen at random, will win 1-HMD Stampendous Cling Rubber Stamp, 1 – Large Dreamweaver Stencils Background Stencil, and 1 – Jar of Embossing Paste.  This contest is open to everyone!!

Even though you will be entering to win by linking up a challenge piece, we sure hope that you’ll hop around to each designer’s blog and leave a sweet “eek” of delight at their inspiration! They’ve worked hard to create something you’ll love! Please give them some love right back! Here are the links to the Sponsor’s blogs and our designers playing today: (If a blog isn’t live when you visit, they might still be sleeping! Please, check back in a few hours!)

HOW TO ENTER:
  1. Create something fun and a little bit wonderful. It’s not a talent show, winners are randomly selected. Use an HMD image plus a stencil on your work (or choose “anything goes”). It doesn’t have to be a card, it can be any kind of project. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
  2. Post your creation online. You can post it anywhere that will give it a unique URL (internet address). Most folks have a blog, but you can post on Flickr, or PhotoBucket, or even on your Google+ account. (ps…creating a blog is free! What are you waiting for?)
  3. Get the URL for the specific post that contains your project – click on the title of your post, copy the URL from your browser’s title bar, click on the inLinkz picture on the HMFMCB post, paste your URL into the tool. Add your name and email address and voila, you’re entered!

We're looking at masking techniques this week & I'm chuffed with the way that this design has turned out I have to admit. I've taken a square piece of flat white card (7.5 x 7.5) & placed a die cut circle of card in the centre using the Zig glue pen (leave the glue to dry so that it becomes re positionable). I've placed stencil tape around the 4 edges too & then sponged using a dabbing/dotting movement  into the remaining white space with the Colorbox inks. Carefully remove the circle of card & tape & then stamp the image into the circle at the centre. I've coloured with pens & the sentiment comes from Daisy Patch. Now layer onto orange card & attach to the front of the card blank.

This week we're going to wear our piece of art & with the gardening season fast approaching I just needed to have a new gardening t shirt! I've sort of used the paper piecing technique for this but using materials instead. I've printed with Daisy Patch by Francoise Read onto 3 different prints which have been fused onto the All Materials Adhesive sheet with the Stix2 Craft & Mixed Media iron. This stamp is great for the applique look as it has some faux stitching around the edges of the print. I then cut out different parts of the flowers, mixed them up & reformed them before ironing them onto the front of the t shirt.I have used Crafters ink to print which is great on fabric & once heat set can be safely washed. To finish off I've added some buttons for the centres of the flowers.

Our theme this week is "Inspired by the Countryside" & it's a "buy one get one free" week from me again! For the main design I must admit it was a technique I saw on Pinterest & decided to adapt it to fit this theme. I was very pleased with the result & can see it being trotted out again for demos etc. It's very easy to do, simply start by punching a 2" square from scrap card & using this as a template to cut a square from "Cling Too" stamp mounting sheet. you could die cut the mounting sheet if you have a suitable die. Use this to stamp squares of colour onto your design as it will cling nicely to an acrylic block. I've used Versafine onyx Black to stamp Jane Gill's new "Into the Woods" on the top of the squares. I've added a wiggly line with a Micron pen around the edges of the design & the sentiment comes from the same set. Simply mount onto a 6 x 6 green card blank.

This design came when I was playing around with ideas. It's stamped onto a background created from Tombow pens & rock salt. The sentiment comes from "You Are" by Francoise Read& the design is mounted onto a white linen DL card blank.

It's monthly sketch challenge time again & I've gone a bit vintagey this time with Francoise Read's nice new stamps. I've used Vintage Sepia to stamp "Old Letter" onto the left hand side of the card blank. I have punched 3 squares & the bar for the bottom from cream card to print sections from "Time After Time" also in Vintage Sepia & the strip of hairy manilla craft card has been printed with a Versamark inkpad just to give a watermark effect. To complete the design I've added some brads & a little bird charm threaded onto a piece of Hemp cord. The dials of the clocks have been covered in Glossy Accents.
