I'm confused!! I'm not sure if this is October or November's  sketch challenge! Anyway here it is! Quite a different one this time dreamed up for us by our own Jane Gill. I started by using the holly mask to create the black background using Galaxy Gold which I then cut in half & punched the half circles in the appropriate places.
Next I turned my attention to the Dreamweaver stencils & I decided to use the "double glitter technique".Cut a piece of card & a piece of double sized adhesive sheet to approximately the same size as the stencil -I used a larger strip here as I wanted it to go right across the card blank & use the  2 stencils side by side. Peel off one side of the sheet & attach to the card. Use a natural soap to rub over the back of the stencil  -this makes it easier to remove from the sticky sheet. Peel off the other side from the sheet & place the stencils over the top. Add ultra fine gold glitter & shake off excess. Carefully remove the stencil & cover the remaining sticky surface with Crystal glitter. Replace the clean stencil & add some colour using inkpads & a 1/8" stencil brush.
I attached the black holly  background with 3D foam tape to raise it slightly off the card blank. I added a little twist of black ribbon to the central image before attaching to the card. To finish add a strip of black satin stripe ribbon.

Ah... White Christmas, my very favourite Christmas song guaranteed to bring a lump to my throat!! That's the theme for this week & I've decided to go white, sparkly & icy. I have used the gorgeous new Jumbo set from Stampendous- Snowflake Trio & embossed the card blank using white powder mixed with a little crystal glitter. I then over stamped with one of the other snowflakes & Platinum Planet. The sentiment is a new stamp from Francoise Read which I have embossed with silver powder & layered onto silver card. I have embellished with punched snowflakes, jewels,Stickles & the pretty new rainbow Elements from Mark Richards. You'll see that I've used the new Dreamweaver embellishment pins which I've given some sparkle with Stickles & inserted into the knot of the ribbon. All ready for Christmas!!

When you think of traditional Christmas designs what springs to mind? Snow scenes? Robins? Laughing snowmen? For me it has to be the nativity as this is what Christmas is all about after all. I've chosen this simple stencil from Dreamweaver which I have embossed with white embossing paste. When the paste was dry I replaced the stencil & softly coloured with inks from the Splendor pads. The words come from last year's set from Francoise Read  "Bethlehem" which I thought went very well with the manger scene. Now simply layer onto silver pearl card & add a die cut & some dots of Frosted Lace Stickles.

Stepping away from card making this week to create a decoration & this idea is something that has been buzzing around in my mind for a while now so time to finally let it out. I've used the fun new "Deck the Halls" from Francoise Read as the focal point of my Christmas wall hanging which has been stamped with Versafine & embossed with clear powder before being coloured with Stardust pens. Cut loosely  around the image before mounting onto bright blue, red & lime green card. As you will see I've randomly stamped the sentiment which comes with the set onto the card layers & added some faux stitching too. The corners gave been rounded with the large corner rounder punch.
The base of the hanging is made from wide lolly sticks which have been stuck together at varying positions .I've also stamped the sentiment onto the lolly sticks & added some Jingle Bells suspended with some Fancy twine. Now just punch some holly leaves & add some suitable buttons as your berries. To finish I have added some gold "Metals" & some gingham ribbon.

Time for this month's Sketch Challenge & I've chosen to use a peel off by Francoise Read. I do like to work with peel offs occasionally & there are some great ones from Woodware to choose from. Sakura pens work very well with peel offs & with the pop art look of this particular one. Just place the peel off onto white card & colour with the pens before punching out with the 2" punch. Layer onto a circle punched from the bright pink card with the 3" punch. Add the other 2 circles from the peel off sheet to a piece of black card & the smaller flowers too. Add some of the flowers to a strip of black card to form the middle border. Now assemble the card following the sketch & add some Liquid Pearls to the centres of the small flowers.
