We're joining the ladies at crafty cardmakers for their monthly challenge & their theme is "For a Special Lady". I've done what they call a "Squash" card which is really easy to do & I've included a link to youtube so that you can watch a tutorial about the basic construction.
All you need to start is 3 x 6" x 6" squares of good quality paper. Now it's as easy as folding each piece into quarters & then once diagonally. Place the pieces so that they sit diamond-wise side by side & then attach them by overlapping & gluing the 2 centre squares. Starting at the left hand side fold the squares inwards & then outwards & then inwards again. Pop over to youtube to see the tutorial.

To decorate the card I've used "Herbs"  & stamped the various designs with soft chalk inkpads in shades of purple & greens. I've sponged over the entire area with the purple ink too. I just love the sentiments which come from Francoise Read's "You Are" & for a special Mum, aunt or friend it says it all. The covers of the card are made from a 3.5" square  of green card & the sentiment is layered onto a 3" square of purple card- don't forget to put the ribbon in place before attaching the sentiment. To finish I've just added a little sparkle with the Elements.

Why not pop over to the crafty cardmakers & see what they've come up with & maybe play along.
