It's sketch challenge time & a nice simple one this month. I've used "Time to Wine Down" from Francoise Read & I really love this stamp as it's so versatile & can be used for many occasions. I've stamped simply in black on the die cut oval & coloured with pencils.
The wood effect background has been created by passing a piece of waxed paper through an embossing folder. You then sandwich the paper between 2 pieces of white glossy card glossy side inwards & wrap this in a thick layer of kitchen foil. Place this on a soft surface like a folded towel & heat with an iron.Remove the wax paper & discard & now simply dust the glossy card pieces with dye inks until the pattern appears. Assemble the sketch & to finish add the burlap trim some punched maple leaves & the sentiment.

We're joining the ladies from Crafty Cardmakers for their monthly challenge & this time it's to produce a design using 1 image, 2 papers & 3 different embellishments- too easy!! Here's another outing for "Marguerite Patch" which I have to say is fast becoming one of my favourite stamps from the new Woodware season. I've stamped the image onto both the lavender & lemon paper & then I've cut around  just the petals of the lavender one with a craft knife. I've then sponged the under side of the petals with a lavender inkpad before curling them upwards with the needle point of a DEET. Now just glue the lavender print on top of the lemon one making sure that all is lined up properly. I printed the image again (all with Versafine Onyx Black) onto the lemon paper & cut out the centre of the flower & attached that along with a Candi. The leaves are coloured with the Koi pens & the dots are added with the Liquid Pearls. For my third embellishment I've coloured the silver "Curlyque" peel off  lemon with the permanent markers & just added a small piece to each corner before mounting onto  the card blank.

Why not pop over to see what the  Crafty Cardmakers design team have come up with.

The list of materials this week reads like a cast of thousands doesn't it? I may have got a bit carried away!! The theme is "Vintage & Lace" & to start I have stamped a background with "Memories" & Triumphant Red. The strip at the left hand side is Ripped Lace printed with Moonlight White with the S/A lace on the top & halves of the paper doilies peeping out at the edge. I've punched the bodice of the dress from some ivory pearl card & embossed it with an embossing folder before sponging with the red inkpad. The shirt of the dress is layers of lace & there are 2 punched hearts behind the bodice for contrast. I have stamped the sentiment from "Something to Say" has been stamped onto a punched "Ornate Bracket" piece. To finish I've layered onto gold mirror card before attaching to the card blank & added the buttons, burlap flowers, pins & pearls.

Here's a closer look at the dress.

Here we are at week 2 of our Stampendous & Dreamweaver blog hop featuring cute Housemouse designs. It's great that I got to open the hop on this side of the pond & I get to be the last too! For the background I pasted the stencil onto green card with white embossing paste. After it was dry I replaced the stencil & added some colour using a small stencil brush & inkpads.
The image was printed with Versafine Vintage Sepia & coloured with coloured pencils & both the image & the background were layered onto the purple & green card before attaching to the card blank. The sentiment is quite an old one from Stampendous & to finish I added a knot of organza ribbon.

For a review of the week take a look at the other blogs

I hope that you have enjoyed the hop and we hope to see you soon!
