A special card for Mother's Day this week & I've tried out something new. I was at a local craft show recently & I bought some mini "fat quarters" of material which are meant for patchwork. Using DSA (double sided adhesive sheet) I backed a piece with pink paper before peeling off the other protective sheet & laying a piece of material on the top, rubbing firmly to ensure a good bond. I then stamped onto the material using the large outline petal stamp from "Doodle a Flower" & Versafine Onyx Black which works well with material. I've also added some "stamens" from one of the useful little stamps which come with the set. I then cut the individual petals & leaves out & gave then slight shape with a Character shaper. For the background I used the Daisy stencil with Angel Pink on a piece of cream linen card. I just stencilled random areas with a medium brush & stamped one of the small icons from the stamp set with black ink. Layer this onto pink card & attach to card blank.
Now arrange the flower petals (I stamped 5 for each flower) to form 3 large flowers. I've raised the petals slightly using 3D foam pads. Arrange the leaves & add buttons to the centres of the flowers which have tiny scraps of material threaded through the centres.
The sentiment comes from quite an old Stampendous set "Hugs For All" but lovely words & style for the occasion. To finish I added some tiny dots of Liquid Pearls to the flower stamens.
