Time to dust off those punches this week & I must say I really enjoyed creating this card. Start with an 8x8 card blank which I have cut & re assembled as a gatefold. Cover the front with the Magenta paper before punching the circle in the centre. If you punch a template first & lightly mark with a pencil you'll get your circle in the right place. As the paper is double sided punch another circle to use as the base for the flower arrangement which will go inside the card. 

The large flower is made with the Catherine Wheel  lightly shaded at the edges with a pink inkpad & finished with the regular Sunflower& pink element at the centre. The 2 smaller flowers are made with the plum punch with the large Sunflower & mini Sun at the centre &  finished with the s/a pearls. Before placing the arrangement inside the card I randomly stamped the back of the card using the Buds & Flourishes from Magenta with a pink chalk inkpad. 

I added the chocolate brown organza ribbon to the right hand side of the card front with a few more elements & a little twist of the narrow pink organza ribbon.  Lastly I punched 2 hearts in white & pink linen card to add the greeting & the pretty butterfly & flowers which all come from Garden Greetings from Francoise Read. Come on, get those punches out!!

I suppose living by the sea nothing says outdoors to me better than being by it. I've chosen quite an old set of stamps for my theme this week by Francoise Read, Sail Away. Stamp onto watercolour paper using Versafine & then colour with the watercolour pencils. I've let the colours "bleed" over the edges of the print for washy effect & torn  around the edges. The gingham paper is the reverse of the double sided "London" paper & the bull rushes are stamped with the blue pad . I have also placed a layer of gingham inside the card & stamped with the bull rushes again. Now simply layer the 2 stamped pieces onto some dark blue & lemon card & add some co- ordinating Candis. Hey look, I've created a men's card without even trying! That'll come in handy!!

It's sketch challenge time again & a second outing for our mysterious "Garden Gal". She's printed using Versafine Onyx Black & softly coloured with Sakura pencils. The floral background panel is "Botanical Blooms" which the observant among you will recognise as I've used  several times now in a variety of ways so it's a very versatile stamp. It's stamped with Versafine Spanish Moss & coloured with pencils again. The panel on the left is a Basil 12 x 12 paper & I've used the Crafty Edger with the ribbon border cassette (the one which comes with the Crafty Edger starter set) & laced some Baby Pink organza ribbon. The sentiment at the bottom comes from Francoise Read's "Special Wishes" which has some lovely greetings plus some pretty little icons too. Now simply layer your sketch onto an ivory hammer card blank which has been softly sponged around the edges with a pale green chalk inkpad.

We have the first of the Woodware Retailer Challenges & we are being started off by Jill Tuck.Our mission should we choose to accept it this week is to  create a design using only stamps & inks. No problem!! I've started by taking a square piece of glossy card & randomly stamping with a Versamark inkpad, some of the leaves from the flower Medley set by Francoise Read. Then using the Kaleidacolor dye inkpad I've brayered over the top which gives a lovely muted pattern & hey presto! you have your background design. Next I inked the largest flower from the set with "Autumn Leaves" & printed onto white pearl card & this created a gorgeous pearly effect (funny that!). Now simply cut out the flowers & layer the background onto the card blank. Add some raffia before you attach the layer to the card. The sentiment which has been placed onto a tag from the label punch comes from Jane Gill's new ones & has some lovely greetings in a great font. Now simply add some punched mini sunflowers, the Nailheads, Metals & Liquid Pearls to the flower centres for a hot summery design.

A fun card this week created mostly with peel offs & just a little stamping for the  tongue in cheek sentiment at the bottom! Pop the dog & cat peel offs onto some card, colour using Tombow pens & cut out. The background has been created on the silver card using peel off lines with branches & leaves from the Leaves peel off. Punch a moon from lemon card & attach the animals with foam pads. I've scattered a few stars from a Christmas peel off I had left Layer onto black card before attaching to the card blank. Simple but quirky!

 Wow another week has flown by already! Hope you're all well today. Here's my desk & the same mess as last week really, can't see it improving any time soon.Oh I do have a new little storage unit on the desk which has turned out to be very useful. I keep rummaging for suitable card & paper but does it get put back??? Nope! The pile's a- growing! I did have a clear up of stamps & virtuously cleaned & put them away but now all things Cuttlebug are taking over. There's some bunting awaiting attention too. I'll get to it............eventually!!

This week we're just letting someone who is feeling a bit blue or perhaps unwell know that we're thinking of them. I've taken the theme literally & gone for all kinds of shades of blue with punched layers from the various 12 x 12 papers using the Crafty Edger & Tag border. I've sliced the front of the card blank diagonally & rejoined the right hand side with a fold of card. Starting at the top of the card I've layered all the different strips overlapping to give a frilly, lacy effect. The sentiment has been stamped onto Gingham Blue paper using Versafine & layered onto some dark blue card. This panel has only been attached to the card blank on the left hand side diagonally so that the right front half closes behind it . As you will see I've sliced away the top & bottom corners of the 2 halves of the card respectively to reveal the dark blue spotty London 4 paper inside which provides a contrast. To finish the outside of the card I have added some Liquid Pearls to the border pattern on the stamped panel.
