We're featuring the subject of travel this week & I've come up with another "blokey" card using 2 of the new stamps from Aspects of Design. I've stamped with black onto a piece of background which I created a while ago when playing with the Creative Palette from Stampendous- I knew all those pieces would come in handy one day! The border at the left hand side is a torn piece from  the Textura pad stamped with the Shipped Script. The card blank itself has been run through a script embossing folder to give it some texture. The very apt message has also been printed onto the cardstock. To finish I've added some seam binding which I've coloured with a grey inkpad & the pewter brads. .

Here's  a closer look.

Our theme this week is "Boys & Their Toys" & toys to Mr Frosty were always ones which went with water so I thought I'd go for a nautical look.
I've chosen "Sailing By" from Francoise Read which is a large stamp & comes as you see it here so it's great for cutting up into separate sections if you wish. I've stamped twice, once with black & then with grey. I've used the Sakura Stardust pens to watercolour the black printed image & then I've cut it up & placed it over the grey image. Simples! I've layered onto red & navy card & added some gingham ribbon to trim. To finish I've added some faux stitching & some buttons.

We're back to our old friend the Sketch Challenge this week after a break for the first part of this year. I decided to use a favourite of mine from Stampendous "Botanical Blooms" which I love for the Victorian feel & the beautiful detail. I've embossed with white onto craft card & coloured simply with Sakura pencils. The sentiment has been printed onto a panel which has been background stamped with a dusky pink chalk inkpad. To finish I've added some Elements in green

We have a designer challenge this week & chosen by our friend across the pond Pam. Now any of you who have visited Pinterest know that you have to be prepared to lose a couple of hours of your life! There is no such thing as a quick visit!! Well you know my liking for mechanical cards I was just perusing the other day & came across the "Double Display" card which seemed interesting & a challenge (there may be a workshop coming up in a few weeks time so watch this space!). To see how to make & for the template here's the link http://www.susanbluerobot.com/2009/11/how-to-make-my-double-display-card.html .

I have used the flowers & butterfly from the "Build a Bouquet" set by Stampendous & coloured softly with the Sakura pencils. As you will see when you have produced the card blank you have a lot of rectangles  & spaces to fill which the paper pads do beautifully for you.For the largest inner panel I have used the hydrangea, leaves & butterfly. The sentiments on the side panels come from Delightful Verse. For the outer panels it was the daisies. To fill in I used the papers & some punched flowers. Now add some sparkle from the Stickles & the Liquid Pearls for the centres of the hydrangeas.

This week we're having some fun "down on the farm". I've chosen a stepper card for this & if you would like the template for this please leave me a comment & I'll e mail it to you. I started by brayering (is that even a word?!!) the whole card blank on both sides with some honey coloured ink. I then stencilled with a grey inkpad with the Clear Scraps mask. I have paper pieced the chicken using the Perfect Prints pads onto plain card & then cut it out & mounted the chicken on a "Wobbler". For the background of the card I used some of the great stamps that come with the set to add the straw, eggs & the sentiments. The eggs have been stamped onto cream & craft card, cut out & mounted with some 3D foam pads. Lastly I added some colour to the chicken's beak, tail, comb & heart with an orange Sakura pen.
